Bmobile-Vodafone increases 3G+ coverage in Lae area and airport

Lae and Nadzab can now boast to having wider 3G+ coverage thanks to Bmobile-Vodafone increasing the number of towers capable of data communication. Residents of the PNG’s second largest city will now enjoy faster internet speeds.

This was announced in a press release yesterday.

Bmobile-Vodafone Group CEO, Sundar Ramamurthy said: “Lae has the largest sea port in the country and will also co-host the 2015 Pacific Games. We are the mobile communications provider of the 2015 games and we want to ensure that a reliable mobile communications network is provided for businesses,

Lae residents and the athletes before and after the games. ”

Loujaya Kouza, Member for Lae Open thanked Bmobile-Vodafone for providing this service adding that “this is good for the people and also the business community as such services helps boost business and also allows ordinary people do their business effectively”.

The additional 3G+ sites in all parts of Lae are part of Bmobile-Vodafone’s expansion and upgrade of its network being carried out in the country.

There is now a growing 3G+ footprint which includes Hagen, Wewak, Manus, Goroka, Madang and Simberi with more towers planned in the next six weeks.
