GLOBAL telecommunications service provider SpeedCast International Ltd announced it has been awarded a multi-million dollar contract for delivery of satellite communications and network services by InterOil.
SpeedCast said it would provide a range of field connectivity solutions to InterOil’s assets located in the Gulf for the Papua LNG Project.
SpeedCast would deliver to InterOil a field connectivity solution, including containerised satellite data and voice communications units, network services, and mobile satellite solutions.
With this new contract, SpeedCast would be providing connectivity for 12 locations, including base camps, construction sites and remote rig sites which require rapid mobilisation and demobilisation. SpeedCast will expand the scope of its delivery beyond traditional satellite connectivity to include network services as well as mobile satellite solutions.”
For the new contract SpeedCast proposed services that utilised C-band, Ku-band and L-band frequencies to meet specific requirements of InterOil.
