Telikom PNG rolls out high speed internet technology

TELECOMMUNICATIONS company Telikom PNG has rolled out its fiber to the home (FTTH) broadband services in the National Capital District.

This is its recent deployment of its broadband services being rolled out at the Islander village after residents had applied to have it installed.
FTTH offers high speed bandwidth transmission to break down the bandwidth bottle neck of access over twisted pair cables with a broadband speed ranging from 10Mbps up to 100Mbps that is consistent and secure.

The service allows for greater accessibility and availability of the internet for these residence and current Telikom’s affordable internet rates applies.
According to Telikom PNG Group marketing general manager Xavier Victor, there is a growing demand for high speed broadband for business and individuals alike and the FTTH is enhancing businesses while creating new investment opportunities.
“Hence, Telikom is offering two plan types that customers can choose from the Post-pay or the prepaid service.

There is an introductory offer for the prepaid service for K499.00 comes with free installation, a modem and 10GB data,” he said.
He added that the FTTH service at this stage is only available in some areas around Port Moresby.
The service can be easily upgraded to meet future demands by changing the equipment at each end of the fibre whereas there are limitations on copper.
