There are times when you are editing or typing a document, you realise that the text being deleted when hitting the spacebar on the keyboard. The spacebar becomes a delete key instead of creating space every time you press it. Do not panic. Follow the simple steps below to avoid such thing to happen.
You've somehow gotten your session into "Overwrite" mode: press the "Insert" key on your keyboard to switch back to "Insert" mode. Watch the status bar at the bottom of the Writer window: each time you press the "Insert" key, the typing mode indicator will switch between "INSRT" and "OVER" to show which typing mode you're in.
You can also change modes just by clicking on the indicator in the status bar.
