Communications Officer - Job in Honiara

 Oxfam is looking for highly motivated and experienced professionals to join its Social
Accountability team. We are recruiting a Project Manager, a Capacity Building
Coordinator, a Finance Officer and a Communications Officer.

All positions are Honiara based and present exciting opportunities to work with one of the
leading international humanitarian and development agencies operating in Solomon Islands.

1x Communication Officer

Skill & experiences
 Ability to develop or customise stories for local and international audiences
 At least two years’ experience as a journalist or in a busy press office
 Ability to represent the organisation in high-profile and high-pressured external
 Ability to use various social media platforms
 Ability to organise content gathering trips
 Ability to provide effective and empowering transfer of knowledge and skills on media and
communications processes
 Knowledge of how national, regional, and international media works in the Pacific region
 Strong understanding of how the news media can be used to fundraise and influence
 Ability to manage brand and design guidelines for professional print, digital and desktop.
 Ability to producing high-quality communications products to tight deadlines
