Applications are invited for the position of
IT Support Specialist
, Healthcare Language Training at Niagara College KSA,
Makkah Male Campus
. Reporting to the Supervisor, IT, the role serves to support Healthcare Language Training Program IT operations of the college by working with internal and external stakeholders and collaboratively with other departments in order to provide quality client service. The IT Support Specialist will provide hardware and software support. Niagara College supports a wide range of computer related equipment and software including but not limited to Microsoft Windows OS and office software, Apple OS, Linux, Cisco (telephones, switches and routers).

This position has a duration of 6.5 months, with possibility for renewal.

The proposed start date is March 21st
. It is expected that the successful candidate be flexible in terms of hours of work and maintain confidentiality, diplomacy and tact regarding internal and external relations.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Assist the IT Supervisor in maintaining labs and classroom PCs for the Health Program
Troubleshoot hardware/software issues for administrative, academic, student and support staff, providing technical support, as needed
Maintain printers, scanners and audio visual equipment for administrative, academic, student and support staff, providing technical support, as needed
Maintain and monitor internal and external networks
Resolve network performance issues
Identify problems and related issues, analyze the behavior of issues in comparison to what is needed
Setting up and maintaining testing labs
Diagnose, troubleshoot and document IT problems
Assist in preparation and tracking the IT inventory on campus


Skills
Required qualifications, at a minimum, include:


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology from a recognized university is desirable
  • Minimum 2 years' related work experience, preferably in a post-secondary institution
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in both Arabic and English
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows OS and office software, Apple OS, Linux, Cisco (telephones, switches and routers)
  • Strong organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills
  • Excellent conflict resolution and customer service skills
  • Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience in GCC / MENA countries
