PNG Police Officers cautioned on Public Use of Social Media

A police boss is urging all policemen and women in Papua New Guinea  to be mindful of their conduct in public in this time and age of Social Media.

This is because the public is now using Social media platforms such as FaceBook to report police ill actions on civilians.

NCD Central Commander Anthony Wagambie junior made these remarks following a video of police brutality which went viral on Social Media recently.

As a result of the video, the police officers involved were arrested and charged last week.

Anthony Wagambie junior said, unlike in the past, people are more educated now than before, and they understand better their rights and also that police brutality is a crime.

He adds, police officers are now under the watch of public, that is why they have to be mindful of their actions when on duty.
