Infra-Red Cameras Installed at Jackson's International Terminal in Port Moresby

The Papua New Guinea government has finally installed the Infra-Red Camera at Jackson's International Terminal.

The installation of Infrared Camera is a decision of the National Executive Council upon request from the Health Department as COVID-19 preventive measures.

An Infrared camera is a non- contact temperature measurement device, to gather temperatures of travellers in and out of the country.

Health Minister Jelta Wong said this when providing updates on the coronavirus on NBC National Radio this morning.

Meantime, Prime Minister James Marape upon his arrival from Western Province at midday day today inspected the new COVID-19 Quarantine and Preventive facility including the Infra-Red- Camera set-up at the terminal.

James Marape was pleased with the facility and wishes to see more of those in other main ports of entry through the country.

More on this plus other stories on COVID-19 at 6pm this evening on NBC-TV National News and on Current Issues at 7:30pm.
