Paradise High School in Port Moresby, PNG has resorted to having classes online via a popular conferencing app, ZOOM. This is due to the closure of schools for the last two weeks with the students missing out on important lessons.
The school Principal Mr. Safak Deliismail, said the students were asked to download the ZOOM app then they were sent the link to enter the pass code to be in the class.
"We started last Thursday with only the Grades 10 and 12 but this week the classes will be for grades 1 to 12. We have sent timetables to each student so they know what time their class is on and they don’t miss it."“During the lockdown, students were given work sheets on the lessons they were missing out on with the teachers uploading a video on google drive explaining the content of the lessons for the students to download and complete their worksheets,” he said.
So far this has worked very well for the teachers and students and will continue until the school resumes normal classes.
He further added that the grade 12 students have all collected their Written Expression Exam Resource booklets and have done a mock exam so they are ready for the exams come next week Monday.
