THE ROLE

We are currently seeking a capable and energetic Digital Learning Officer  to join our team. The successful applicant will need to have a minimum of 1 year of work experience in the field of IT and a tertiary level with relevant qualifications and honest references. The Digital Learning Officer is  a highly student-focused role, the Digital Learning Officer should focus on strong collaboration, communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.  It is also essential that you understand Global Information and Technology Best Practices, and local industry trends. 

JOB DISCRIPTION

The Digital Learning Officer will assist in designing, testing and implementing digital solutions within the Digital Learning Team.

Duties Include:

Moodle Administration

  • Assist Digital Learning Manager to Configure, administer, maintain, update and documents the Moodle Learning Management System
  • Conducting and assisting with Moodle Administration for students and staff when required
  • Student requests are prepared and attended to in a timely manner
  • Liaise with other departments to complete assigned tasks
  • Respond to inquiries and requests from users for Moodle-related assistance as escalated through the support process

Digital Learning Technical Duties


  • Regularly monitor the status of University computer laboratories and relevant classroom technologies which include Telikom sim cards, projectors, audio equipment and white boards.
  • Planning, scheduling and coordination of Moodle assistance and training to lecturers and students
  • Prepare training materials for Moodle Users
  • Support and assist the designing and development of digital and blended learning solutions – including basic video and audio editing, building courses and working in collaboration with respective Head of Schools and Lecturers
  • Assist students and liaise with Telikom PNG to register respective students Telikom Sim Cards

  • Ensure there is always positive culture within the team

  • Follow Policies and Procedures at all times
  • Escalate any concerns/ risks / issues related to the Moodle, Learning Management System to your supervisor and ICT immediately
  • Any duties as designated by the Digital Learning Manager

Reporting

  • Our systems and processes are designed to minimize reporting requirements. If, however you feel something does not look quite right, notify your supervisor, or their supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or in related field

EXPERIENCES

  • Experience working in field of Information Technology for at least 1 year minimum or no experience with GPA of 4 and above.
  • The following criteria is considered to be DESIREABLE:
  • Experience working in a tertiary environment
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge in computer repair and maintenance
  • Demonstrated administrative skills
  • Ability to lead and work with a team
  • Must reside in Port Moresby or able to relocate at own cost
