UPNG School of Business calls for Non School Leavers - Post Graduates Applications for 2022 Studies

 Study in Papua New Guinea. The University of Papua New Guinea School of Business is now calling for non School leavers - Post Graduate Students to apply for 2022 enrollments.

The current School of Business and Public Policy (SBPP) was established in 2002. The School is one of the five Schools at the University. The other Schools are the School of Humanities and

Social Sciences, the School of Natural and Physical Sciences, the School of Medicine and Health Sciences, and the School of Law.

The University of Papua New Guinea and the School of Business and Public Policy (SBPP) are the major beneficiaries of the Pacific Leadership and Governance Precinct (PLGP), which is an agreement signed between the Governments of Papua New Guinea and Australia. Through this agreement, the School:

  • has secured a new state-of-the-art building, with the latest international standard technology and facilities;
  • is supported by the Development Policy Centre (DPC), Crawford School of Public Policy, Australian National University (ANU), to conduct the School’s undergraduate and Postgraduate
  • Economics and Public Policy Management programs. Five lecturers from ANU are working with the School, on a fulltime basis, to train local human resources. Further, in collaboration with ANU, the University and the School organize various research activities, the annual “PNG Update” Conference, an annual students’ study tour to ANU, and other initiatives;
  • has prepared a Strategic Plan for the period 2019-2023;
  • has realigned its curriculum, and has ensured that all of its programs are relevant for the contemporary business environment;
  • and
  • is focusing on producing high quality human resources to enhance the development of the nation.

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), Government of Australia, will be awarding ten scholarships each, to the candidates for the Graduate Diploma in Economic and Public Policy (GDEPP) and the Master of Economic and Public Policy (MEPP) Programs, under the “2022 Public Sector Leadership Scholarships”, through “Australia Awards”. The public servants of the Government of Papua New Guinea are eligible for the scholarship. The awardees will be selected jointly by the Department of Personnel Management, the School, and Australia Awards. The School has strong partnerships with international and local professional organisations and industry.


The School is inviting applications for the following Postgraduate Programs:

  • Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA);
  • MBA-CPA;
  • Master of Human Resources Management (MHRM);
  • Graduate Diploma in Economic and Public Policy (GDEPP) leading to a Master of Economic and Public Policy (MEPP) – supported by the Development Policy Centre, ANU;
  • and
  • Graduate Diploma in Corporate Governance (GDCG) – with the support of the Bank of Papua New Guinea and PNG Institute of Directors. The program aims at preparing high quality Directors to serve on various Boards and Councils of both public and private sector organisations.

Potential applicants are encouraged to discuss their intention to take up the Postgraduate and Masters Programs of their choice, with the School.
