Another key milestone achieved during the recently concluded National ICT Summit 2021 is the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Department of Information Communication and Technology and the PNG Business Council to establish an ICT Incubation Centre in March next year.
ICT Department and PNG Business Council Sign agreement to establish ICT Incubation Center |
The PNG Department of Information and Communications Technology and NICTA will be working closely with Business Council Papua New Guinea and other stakeholders to establish an ICT Incubation Centre in the 1st quarter of 2022.
The ICT Incubation Centre will provide a conducive environment for ICT entrepreneurs to incubate their ideas, have access to office space, the internet, cloud-based services, and business-related training to help them grow their businesses and contribute meaningfully to the development of Papua New Guinea.
As we face these challenging economic times, it is incumbent on us as government to take decisive efforts to empower ICT SMEs as they go through the incubation and start-up process.
We thank the PNG Business Council Executive Director Douveri Henao who shares the same vision the ministry and the department and the government as a whole to explore and create more jobs for Papua New Guineans.
