Job : Compliance & Anti-Money Laundering Training Officer with Bank South Pacific

 Position Details

This position is based in Port Moresby, this position reports to the Training & Communications Manager, to arrange and maintain the banks obligations with relation to Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorist Financing solution for the purpose of providing relevant training across BSP Group.


Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of employee training, including providing regular refresher trainings and awareness to employees on AML/CTF matters, internal policies, procedures, standards and guidelines, relevant laws and regulations.
  • Assist with analysing audit reports and identify weak controls and repeat issues, and deliver appropriate training to address the issues and monitor outcome.
  • Provide support to Training and Communications Manager in the development of training materials based on the trend or skills gap identified by business unit, AML/CTF Act and BSP Group AML/CTF policy.
  • Track and update the banks Thompson Reuters Training as well as keep a daily maintenance of the ACAMS and Dow Jones User registers with accurate information.
  • Upload training modules on BSP learning Portal and monitor completion of modules.
  • Provide weekly reports to Training and Communications Manager on CAML trainings conducted.
  • Assist with preparing ad-hoc information and data reports to Head of Compliance & AML on all AML training conducted as per reporting period.
  • Provide report to CAML training Man-days to BSP Group HR Training and Development
  • Provide assistance with organising travel when required in liaison with the relevant business units and ensure travel, accommodation and per diem allowances are acquitted in a timely manner.
  • Assist with ensuring all staff training occurs per budget allocation for Compliance & AML business units.
  • Carry out any duties as delegated by Training and Communications Manager.

Essential Qualifications, Professional/Skills and Experience:

  • Diploma in Business & Banking Management or higher required.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in training or reporting roles.
  • Experience to support understanding of AML /CTF is desirable.
  • Proficient in written & oral communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications (Word, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong presentation, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to organise and analyse complex data sets.
  • Ability to develop training materials into audio and visual aids.
