APEC WEF theme “Creating a Resilient and Sustainable Future for All” aims to advance women’s economic participation as a means to achieving inclusive and sustainable prosperity across the Asia-Pacific region. The 2023 APEC WEF comes at a critical time, as each of the 21 economies confront a range of global challenges, including recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, the rising threat of climate change, and persistent gender gaps.

To address these challenges, the meeting will address the imperative of improving women’s economic participation, with a focus on four priorities:  building care infrastructure, closing the digital gender divide, the nexus of gender equality and climate change including promoting women’s access to jobs in “green and blue” sectors, and ensuring equity and equality in global value chains.

Crystal won the APEC App challenge in May 2018.
