Papua New Guinea's Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) is set to host the highly anticipated Digital Transformation Summit 2024, which will commence in five days. The event will take place from October 1st to 3rd at the Stanley Hotel in Port Moresby. The summit is expected to bring together experts, stakeholders, and decision-makers from both the public and private sectors to discuss the future of digital government initiatives in PNG.
According to the DICT, key partners in the ICT sector have been instrumental in ensuring the successful organization of the summit. These partners include Datec (PNG) Ltd, Digitech ICT Limited, Telikom Limited, National ICT Authority of Papua New Guinea, Vodafone Papua New Guinea, PNG Dataco Limited, and Kacific Broadband Satellites Group. Their contributions highlight their commitment to advancing digital transformation across the country.
The summit will see active participation from Digital Transformation Officers (DTOs) representing national and subnational government agencies, Provincial Health Authorities, and State-Owned Entities. Their collective efforts aim to create a digital ecosystem that improves service delivery, streamlines government operations, and strengthens public administration in PNG.
As the countdown continues, there is growing anticipation surrounding the launch of key projects and initiatives by the Department of ICT, aimed at driving the country's digital transformation agenda forward.
