JOIN OUR TEAM: APPLY NOW FOR OUR INTERNSHIP PROGRAM 2025–2026

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) is pleased to announce its Internship Program for 2025–2026, designed to provide recent graduates and final-year students with hands-on experience in the ICT sector.


DURATION & LOCATION

  • Program Duration: November 17, 2025 – February 9, 2026 (3 months)
  • Location: DICT Office, Tisa Ruma, Level G, 1 & 2, Islander Drive, Waigani, Port Moresby

PURPOSE & OBJECTIVE

This program offers a unique opportunity for young professionals to:

  • Develop practical skills and gain exposure to real-world ICT operations.
  • Apply analytical thinking and collaborate effectively in teams.
  • Integrate academic knowledge into professional settings.
  • Network with DICT staff and partner organizations.

Potentially secure future employment within DICT based on performance.

Interns will rotate across various Wings and Divisions within DICT, engaging in tasks such as conducting research, proposing innovative ideas, assisting with administrative duties, supporting events, and completing ad hoc assignments under supervisor guidance. This rotational structure ensures a broad understanding of DICT’s operations and fosters adaptability and initiative.


ELIGIBILITY

Applicants must:

  • Be aged between 20 and 26 years.
  • Be currently enrolled in or have recently graduated from a four-year degree program.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in English (both written and oral).
  • Be computer literate and possess a basic awareness of ICT trends.
  • Exhibit professionalism, respectfulness, and a team-oriented attitude.
  • EXPECTATIONS

Interns are expected to:

  • Adhere to a daily work schedule from 7:45 AM to 4:06 PM.
  • Comply with the Public Service General Orders and the Management Act.
  • Submit a performance report to the HR team at the conclusion of the internship, detailing their understanding of DICT, areas engaged with, key lessons learned, recommendations for improvement, and interest in future involvement.

Note: Any misconduct or absenteeism may result in termination and forfeiture of program benefits.


ATTAINMENTS

DICT supports its interns with:

  • A Certificate of Completion
  • A Reference Letter
  • A one-off program payment
  • One return ticket home (if applicable)
  • Daily transport to the nearest bus stop
  • Accommodation is not provided.

  • Completed DICT Internship Form (available for download at ict.gov.pg )
  • A reference letter from their academic institution
  • Copies of educational qualifications
  • Latest academic transcript
