A PNG woman charged with allegations of publishing defamatory comments on social media, facebook against a local female journalist, appeared before the Waigani Committal Court for Mention yesterday.
Quintina Selmah Saun, from Ambunti in East Sepik Province, is alleged to have published defamatory comments against Theckla Gunga, who is a journalist with a local Television Station.
The incident is alleged to have occurred in August.
She was charged under Section 21(2) of the Cyber Crime Act.
Magistrate Cosmas Bidar adjourned the case to November 28, to allow police to complete the investigation file, which will then be served on the defendant.
