Huawei PNG committed to serve Information Technology Sector

 THE Huawei Technologies PNG Ltd is committed to serving the information, communication and technology (ICT) sector in Papua New Guinea, says chief executive officer Jacky Xu.

Xu told The National that ICT services were vital especially during the Covid-19 pandemic.

“ICT development is a basic service for people,” Xu said.

“Especially when the Covid-19 hits, efficient communication becomes more important.

“As a local company, we are going to continue our best efforts to serve the ICT industry and keep our investment as before.”

Last year, the company signed a memorandum of understanding with Telikom PNG to be the distributor of the Huawei idea hub, its largest technology on the market.

“We have been in PNG for more than 10 years as an ICT leading company,” he said.

“We going to partner with Telikom and provide further solutions in the market.”

The company entered the PNG market on June 19, 2007.

It is an ICT equipment and solutions provider.

Its consumer business group is selling the Huawei end-user devices in the country.
