The Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT), as the lead agency, facilitated the meeting to a good turn out of more than ninety (90) participants which included Departmental Heads and other Heads of other Public Authorities.

DICT aims to facilitate this transformation journey starting with transformation of government service delivery on a whole- of- Government basis.

The meeting intended to inform agency heads of the progress to date of key transformational development within the government ICT space and facilitate the formation of inter-agency technical working groups (TWG) in the areas of infrastructure, data and security.

Secretary of the Department of ICT Mr. Steven Matainaho was grateful for the Departmental Heads and IT heads that took the time to attend this meeting.

“The digital transformation process envisions agencies and departments delivering a range of initiatives to improve inter-agency collaboration, that in turn should translate to improvement in public sector service delivery, through the use of innovative and more advanced ICTs.”

He said for the first time we are commencing a whole-of-government approach to delivering a digital government.

“It’s a milestone event. We have three critical projects we have commenced, which are Secure Data Exchange Platform, eGovernment Portal and Shared Services or Government Cloud”.
