In an effort to boost education in Hela Province in Papua New Guinea, the provincial Education Director, Mr Ronny Angu has presented twenty brand new smartphones to the Flexible Open & Distance Education (FODE) and The Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sectors to support the instructors and tutors in improving their communication, training and learning programs, and researching with the new technological device for change and advancement into the future.
The director said, " with the use of smartphones, teachers can leverage technology to achieve new levels of productivity, implement useful digital tools to expand learning opportunities for students, and increase student support and engagement. He added that, it also enables teachers to improve their instruction methods and personalize learning"
After the presentation, the TVET and FODE Division created a WhatsApp group to update themselves of work in all progress so are kept in the loop.
