YouTube has launched an experimental AI-driven feature called Dream Screen, allowing creators to generate unique images or videos using text-based prompts. This tool enables users to create custom green screen backgrounds or standalone six-second video clips for Shorts. However, the feature is currently available to a limited group of creators in select countries as part of YouTube's testing phase.
YouTube Introduces AI-Powered Dream Screen for Shorts
Using Dream Screen for AI-Generated Content
Creators can incorporate Dream Screen content into their Shorts while ensuring compliance with YouTube’s Community Guidelines. To prevent misuse, YouTube has implemented safeguards that block inappropriate prompts and prohibit generating photorealistic images of identifiable individuals, reducing the risk of deepfakes and other harmful content.
While AI-generated content offers innovative possibilities, YouTube advises creators to carefully review their AI-generated materials before publishing. YouTube will continue refining the tool based on user feedback.
