Digicel Foundation Launches 3 hour Education TV Channel

Digicel Foundation launched its new Educational television Channel called “Belit” which will air on the 27th of September 2021.

BeLit is short for Better Literacy. The TV Channel will Broadcast the Education Department’s EQUITV science and mathematics series for students in Grades 6, 7 and 8. It will also broadcast a youth based TV Talkshow called YouthTok produced by The Voice Inc.

The channel will air on TVWAN for three hours daily from9am to 12pm and will become a 24hour TV Channel early next year.

“Where there is a school there is a teacher but in the case where there is no teacher present the next best option is the Education channel and this can play a role in ensuring there is some contact with students. We thank Digicel Foundation for an initiative that means a lot to every child and every family. When you touch education you touch the heart of every Papua New Guinean,” Secretary for Education, Dr. Uke Kombra.
