Digicel chief executive officer Colin Stone said they were delighted to provide the technology to allow customers to make remote payments and cash collections around the country.
“This partnership reinforces our continued commitment of investing in Papua New Guinea and the future generations of this country with innovative products and services, especially to marginalised, rural and remote communities that find it difficult to access financial services. PNG Air customers who are also Digicel customers will experience the ease and comfort of paying for airline tickets from their home or office,” he said.
PNG Air acting chief executive officer Stanley Stevens said: “By having the flexibility and more ways to pay for their PNG Air tickets, the bridge the Cellmoni provides is beneficial as it enables us to connect more Papua New Guinea with their families, wantok and businesses across PNG.”
