Meet Mr Daniel Ealedona, a final year graduating student of the University of Papua New Guinea, and is from a mixed parentage of Misima Island in Milne Bay Province and Western Province, Daru.
Mr. Ealedona completed his undergraduate studies last year (2022) in the Bachelor of Arts program, Majoring in English Communication, and Minoring in Political Science. He is now attached with the Information Delivery Division of the Department (DICT) mostly in the area of media and communications.

As graduating student in communications, Mr. Ealedona finds it fairly significant in having a hands-on practical approach to learning the mechanisms of information dissemination to the general public and/or state bodies.
Mr Ealedona said he applied for the DICT internship to at least gain experience in practical information delivery work.
“Knowing the values that an experience in information dissemination can add to my professional career as an aspiring communications officer, I applied for the Department’s internship program to gain that practical approach to my field,” said Mr. Ealedona.
In the internship program thus far, Mr. Ealedona has proven to be a reliable and valuable member of the Department’s Information Delivery division, always adapting and effective in putting in the required effort to accomplish a deliverable.
“At the end of the DICT Internship, I am sure I’ll gain experience in the areas of information dissemination, critical article compiling and reviewing, along with other key skills required by Information Delivery, and Communications professionals,” added Mr. Ealedona.
Mr. Ealedona aims to be an advocate for the Department's key goal of achieving Digitization and Digitalization Transformation in Papua New Guinea.
He says that he appreciates being selected to be a part of the visionary journey the department is undertaking to build PNG to meet globalization standards in Today's world.
“I have always been interested in digital advancement and technology and how Papua New Guinea can incorporate these modern methods in governance and service delivery to add value to our robust digital economy, thus I am always actively supporting, posting, and sharing the department's agendas on my LinkedIn account to help advocate on the Department's agendas, efforts, and information delivery,” says Mr. Ealedona.
The Department of Information and Communications Technology have engaged graduates from various universities in PNG, with diverse academic backgrounds, and along with the educational theories acquired in school, the department have applied practical modules that enhanced their skillset in the practical work environment, exposing them to changing and emerging technology, and improved methodology for government operations.
