Kalang Advertising Limited today became the first radio station to officially have a Radio App in Papua New Guinea.
According to Acting Chief Executive Officer Bill Wartovo this Radio App is designed to provide a seamless and personal radio listening experience for listeners in the country and around the world.
Mr Wartovo says, this achievement is an effort of bridging the gap in the radio broadcasting space and an alignment of Kalang Advertising Limited’s digital transformation plans.
Wartovo says, Kalang Advertising’s achievement is also in line with the Government’s Digital Plan 2023 to 2027.
He further says, this app also creates the convenience for accessibility not only in the urban areas but also in the rural areas, as long as you have data to access the app and Kalang Advertising through the FM100 App makes radio listening more convenient.
MR Wartovo also stated that, with the FM100 Rugby live telecast of the NRL, this app has made the the difference in experience, with positive feed backs and support from users around the world have been incredibly encouraging.
The brains behind the Radio App, Kalang’s ICT Manager, Luanne Borle says the app was developed last year and was trialled for the last six months, before its launching today.
According to Mrs Borle ,the app has two basic features, accessibility anywhere in the world as well as having access to FM100 socials.
She further says, there has been some positive feedback collected during the 6 months and so far, there are 284 active users and 500 downloads, with users listening in from as far China, Hawaii, Switzerland and Australia.
