PNG Air has engaged SkyNet Aviation to provide advanced software systems aimed at enhancing its safety operations. The newly introduced technology offers live real-time flight tracking and a suite of tools designed to improve the airline's commercial efficiency.
The SkyNet Aviation solutions are expected to boost fleet management and operational efficiencies while supporting contract clients, pilots, cabin crew, and ground staff. A key feature of the system is its real-time tracking platform, which aids in handling emergencies, diversions, and adverse weather conditions, positioning PNG Air's safety systems among the best in the industry.
The technology is built on a network of 13 ADS-B tracking stations being established across PNG Air's domestic network. Additionally, satellite transponders installed in each aircraft ensure real-time tracking in areas not covered by the ground-based ADS-B system, providing seamless monitoring across the airline's operations.
To ensure the effective implementation of the system, staff from key departments, including Operations Control, Ground Operations, Crewing, IT, and Reservations Control, participated in a four-day in-country training program delivered by SkyNet Aviation. Participants received certification to train other members of the PNG Air team, facilitating widespread integration of the system across the organization.
PNG Air stated that this initiative reflects its commitment to leveraging technology to improve safety and deliver better commercial outcomes for its customers. The airline also extended its gratitude to its customers for their ongoing support.
