Fake Ok Tedi–Parul University Sponsorship Circulates Online

Ok Tedi Mining Limited (Ok Tedi) has issued a warning over a fake online scheme falsely claiming the company is sponsoring students to study at Parul University. The scam is being promoted through social media posts attributed to an individual named Dominic Yambi, who also invites interested applicants to apply for spaces at the university and talks about “partnerships” with Ok Tedi.

Ok Tedi has moved quickly to distance itself from the claims, stressing that the information is completely false. The company has confirmed it has no affiliation with Parul University and no association with the individual behind the post.

The mining company further clarified that it has not sponsored any students to attend Parul University under any arrangement. Any social media content suggesting otherwise is misleading and part of a scam.

Members of the public are being urged not to engage with these posts, not to submit personal details, and not to send money or documents in response to such offers. Ok Tedi is advising people to rely only on its official communication channels for verified information on employment, training, and education opportunities, and to treat unsolicited online “offers” with extreme caution.
