#PNGTechnews : Academic and administrative staff at Divine Word University were recognised for their participation in a three-day Artificial Intelligence workshop as the institution concluded the program in Madang.

Certificates were presented to participants who completed the training, which focused on the role of AI in modern higher education systems.

The closing event also honoured facilitators from the University of Melbourne, who were acknowledged for delivering the workshop and sharing expertise with PNG educators.

Vice President Academic Affairs Professor Iwona Kolodziejczyk expressed appreciation for the collaboration, saying the partnership had contributed to strengthening teaching capacity at the university.

Those involved in facilitating the sessions included Professor Raoul Mulder, Dr Leah Schwartz, Dr Mat Hardy and Dr Tracii Ryan.

The ceremony was attended by DWU President Fr Philip Gibbs, underscoring the importance of the initiative.

In a show of goodwill, the visiting team presented gifts to DWU, thanking the university for working together under the Australian Awards Higher Education Partnership Project.

The event concluded with a dinner gathering, where participants and guests shared light moments and reflected on the outcomes of the training.
