The authority is using the occasion to promote opportunities for young women and recognise the growing presence of females contributing to the ICT industry in PNG.
Celebrated internationally, the day is dedicated to motivating girls to pursue education and careers in technology, an area traditionally dominated by men.
This year’s theme, “AI for Development: Girls Shaping the Digital Future,” will be marked on April 23, focusing on how young women can influence the future through innovation and digital skills.
NICTA will showcase its female employees, graduate trainees and scholarship recipients as part of the celebrations, highlighting their roles and achievements within the organisation.
The authority maintains that increasing women’s participation is vital to ensuring balanced representation in shaping PNG’s digital landscape.
