CCTV to Monitor Port Moresby's Gordons Market

The redeveloped Gordons market  in Port Moresby is the first market facility in the Capital city to utilize CCTV cameras.

This is part of NCDC's partnership with UN Women to promote a safer city for women and girls including men.

It is also a step forward in achieving Prime Minister James Marape vision that by 2025, women can be able to move around freely without fear and intimidation.

The CCTV cameras have been installed in every corner of the market and will closely monitor the activities taking place at the market.

Meantime, the state of the art market will be opened for business tomorrow Tuesday the 5th of November.

The 30- Million Kina redeveloped Gordon market was formally opened last week.
