PNG's Divine Word University Partners with South Korean University for Data Analytics and AI Seminar

 Divine Word University (DWU) in Madang hosted a three-day seminar last month, focusing on data analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) in business. This event was conducted in partnership with Handong Global University from South Korea.


The seminar, led by professors and students from the South Korean institution, covered topics such as advanced Excel applications, microlearning, Dart programming, and AI applications in business.

DWU President, Professor Fr. Philip Gibbs, commented on the success of the seminar, stating that the content was both innovative and engaging for participants. "Both staff and students found the seminar's topics new, interesting, and enjoyable," he said.

The seminar aimed to enhance participants' competencies in data analytics and AI, crucial skills for today's business environment. It was designed to help attendees improve their career prospects and remain competitive in the job market.

Dr. Martin Daniel, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Informatics at DWU, expressed appreciation for the collaboration with Handong Global University. “I encourage our staff and students to build on the knowledge gained and apply it in their studies and work,” Dr. Daniel advised. “The rapid changes in the business and technology sectors necessitate that we stay abreast of these developments.”
