In a significant move, an MoU with the PNG Digital ICT Cluster Inc. will enable the organization to oversee the deployment of websites for all District Development Authorities (DDAs) and Provincial Health Authorities (PHAs) by the end of 2024.

Matainaho also highlighted that cloud infrastructure management, including the Government Private Network, will be transitioned to PNG DATACO LIMITED to enhance efficiency and security.

The National Cyber Security Centre (CSOC) is now monitoring cybersecurity threats across more than 75 government agencies and over 1,000 endpoint devices, according to Matainaho.

The DICT is preparing to launch the Citizens’ Government Portal in September 2024, which will streamline essential transactional services and include a Digital Wallet App for managing digital certificates and permits.

In addition, the PNG Customs Service is leading the G2B Single Window Platform Project to simplify business processes across regulatory agencies.

Datec PNG Limited is initiating a scoping exercise for the eCabinet Project, while the National Procurement Commission, with support from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), is beginning scoping for the eProcurement Project.

The department is also testing standardized endpoint devices and finalizing a Corporate User Group (CUG) Mobile Plan with Telikom PNG for deployment across the public service.

Secretary Matainaho emphasized that these initiatives are part of the department’s ongoing efforts to improve governance, efficiency, and citizen empowerment, positioning PNG as a progressive player in the regional digital transformation landscape.
