The newly opened Science and IT lab at the Aiyura National High School will be benefiting with free internet services from PNG Data Co for two years.
This was revealed by PNG Data Co Managing Director Paul Komboi whilst attending the opening of the K2.6 million facility last week in Aiyura in the Eastern Highlands Province.
Mr. Komboi said as a former student of Aiyura National High School, the initiative is one way of giving back to an institution that helped educate him to become who he is today.
Mr. Komboi urged current students attending the school to bring back the fine quality of learning the school has achieved 20 years ago by making use of the facilities to be the finest graduates.
He also took time to thank the surrounding communities for their working together to look after the school and its facilities.
The new Science and IT lab for Aiyura was built through a K10 million funding from the Department of National Planning and Monitoring last year.
The Eastern Highlands provincial government also assisted with K100, 000 while the Ministry of Education has committed K1 million to purchase lab equipment and computers. FM100
