The Remington Group has extended its Apprenticeship Roadshow to Don Bosco Technical Secondary School, Gabutu.
The Roadshow held at DBTSS was aimed at further showcasing Remington Group’s Apprenticeship Program which was launched in July this year, pioneered by four graduates from Don Bosco Technical Secondary School and Don Bosco Technological Institute.
The Apprenticeship Program provides Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) to leading graduates with a valuable career path through training and mentorship to help them settle into their new career paths.
In his speech at the roadshow, Group Chief Executive Officer Mr Peter Goodwin said,
“Despite COVID-19 being a serious challenge for all members of the world community, the good news is that life will go on, you will all finish school and there will be jobs for some of you at Remington Group.”
Mr Goodwin encouraged students of Don Bosco Technical Secondary School saying that “success is most likely to come more quickly to those who work the hardest”.
The Remington Group Apprenticeship Program involves four intense years of practical work experience and block courses in technical fields like electronics and electro-technology and is regulated by the National Apprenticeship and Trade Testing Board.
In addition to providing employment opportunities for young graduates, Remington Group offers a scholarship program to top performing final year students in the fields of Electronics, Information Technology, Electro-Technology or similar, where students need financial assistance to complete their studies.
The Roadshow at DBTSS highlighted the Remington Group’s commitment to serving Papua New Guineans since it was first established in 1948. The Group will continue delivering top-notch service to customers through its highly skilled graduates, all trained and mentored through the Remington Group Apprenticeship Program.
