WAIGANI Committal Court Magistrate Cosmas Bidar has raised concern over the number of cases pending in relation to the abuse of telecommunication services.
He brought up the issue yesterday before adjourning the case against Brendan Kadeu, who was charged with using obscene language on Facebook against Madang MP Nixon Duban early this year.
He said a lot of cases were being adjourned as the court was yet to be informed by National Information, Communication and Technology Authority (NICTA) whether the authority or police would prosecute the cases.
Kadeu, 31, of Siar village, Madang, first appeared in court on Feb 10 after he was arrested by police at Jackson Airport and charged a week after allegedly committing the offence in Waigani on Jan 23.
